After Massive Demolition in Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State, Victims Cry For Help

The massive demolition followed a quit order from the state gov’t since following the sale of the area to some private body.
However, the residents say that the matter concerning the Quit order is subsisting in court and being looked at by National Assembly members. The plight of the residents began in the early hours of Monday morning on 4th September 2017 when they were woken up by roars of bulldozers which were knocking down structures in the area. Attempt by the residence to protest the demolition were met with anger from armed men of the Nigerian Army and the riot police, who fired canister tear gas a the distraught residents.
As at Wednesday morning, over 2000 houses have been knocked down. These include offices shops, churches, mosques, schools and residents.
Alhaji Yunusa Muhammad who spoke to our correspondent disclosed that on the early hours of Monday the area was raided by thousands of security men all armed, thy came and started demolishing the house. We were sent out before they started.

“ it took me eight years to build this house I spend more than one hundred million in building my house which contained six bedroom flat, four parlors, four kitchens, four toilets and all well tiled. The house was well interlocked. Even my car was damaged in the process.” He said. 

Matthias a victim wept while speaking to one of our GudusHub correspondent.
“ I don’t know how to express myself. We own nothing no more. We have to remove our roofs sell them to even eat. We don’t know were to go. Very annoying this same government sings of one Nigeria how can that happen? We are left with nothing.
Fidelis also narrated ho he and his pregnant wives let outside during the rain. He also added that it had affected his wives’ health and prayed it does not go beyond he can handle.
Robert Nathaniel decried saying after the demolition he had t seen his kids as everyone ran helter-skelter for survival.
“They stormed by 6am and start sending people away. I can’t even eat because I can’t find my family, everyone has been demoralized. I am still looking for them and hope they live for me for they are all I have worked for even though there is nothing now to show for it.
Felix who is eyes witness also spoke to our correspondent that one of his friend's shop of furniture was demolished along side together with all shops in the area.
Seeking help from state Government.
