FUT Minna student has been apprehended by men of the security unit of the institution for allegedly stealing some items.

      A twenty years old man, Mr. Emmanuel Daniel, has been apprehended by men of the security unit of the institution for allegedly stealing some items belonging to some residents of the Federal University Technology (FUT) Minna.

     The Chief Security Officer of the institution, who briefed our correspondent in a media chat, said the suspect was caught with stolen Laptops, printers, generators and other materials. According to him, the suspected burglar was a student of Civil Engineering Department in the institution before he eventual withdrawal which was due (only) to his alleged criminal activities.

        Meanwhile, the suspect, Emmanuel Daniel regretted the whole incident, saying "I was  pushed into stealing without my control. The whole things seems to me like somebody is controlling me. Before now, I've lived with my parents without any criminal record. Its like I'm being influenced by an external for; and each time I go out to rob people of their belongings, I always had the instinct that am being controlled by unknown force". He added.

      The alleged criminal however asked for forgiveness and begged the school management to help him out of his situation so that he can go back home and live a normal life.

      For his part, the Chief Security officer said, the suspect will be handed over to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution. The security expert further urged members of the university community to always report all the suspected person (s) or object (s) to the security office, saying since security is everyone's business; nobody should hesitate to give relevant information to security units whenever the need arises.
